Learn more about the Mette Case at http://lakotalaw.org/special-reports/the-mette-affair. There are many stories like this, which is why we are assisting the Lakota tribes to create their own foster care system.
Free the Mette Children!
The South Dakota Dept. of Social Services placed 7 Lakota foster
children into foster care with a non-Native, known molester.
In what appears to be a common situation, the state of South Dakota placed 7 Lakota children into a foster family with a known molester, Richard Mette, and his enabling wife, Wendy Mette, from 2000 to 2013. The DSS knew of the accusations against Mr. Mette, but still placed Lakota foster children with him.
The state ignored MULTIPLE complaints of sexual and physical
abuse, and pleas for help from the children.
1. In 2001, the state ignored the foster boys’ complaints of molestation, and simply made the Mette adoptive parents sign a contract pledging to discontinue any illegal behavior.
2. In 2007, one of the girls told the police how she was sexually molested by Mr. Mette. She reported that Mrs. Mette knew about the molestations. Again, the DSS defended the Mette foster parents, and allowed the children to stay in the home.
3. Afterwards, Kelly, the older foster sister who had aged out of the Mette foster family, was getting reports from her younger siblings that the sexual and physical abuse was increasing and intensifying. She reported this to the South Dakota DSS, who ignored it and said they did not believe the children.
Yankton Doctor sees bruises and reports abuse. In October 2010, the only boy among the Mette foster siblings at that time went to see a doctor at the Human Services Center in Yankton, S.D. The child, covered with bruises, disclosed abuse occurring in his adoptive home. He also detailed how Richard Mette, the adoptive father, was molesting the girls. The doctor contacted the authorities at once.
Brandon Taliaferro, the Assistant State’s Attorney responsible for criminal child abuse cases in Brown County, immediately began an investigation.
The police search the Mette house and find more evidence of sexual abuse, including enough pornography to “pack a store”, including “family incest” porn.
The children revealed they had been subjected to physical abuse, sexual molestation and threats of being beaten if they did not comply with the molestation or if they told anyone. In addition, the children explained that they were often given a choice between “b***jobs or beatings”.
The children say they were forced to watch incest porn with Mr. Mette. The children were told that the porn, with titles like “Family Heat”, is how families are supposed to act.
The disgusted police charged Mr. Mette with 23 counts of child rape and incest, and Mrs. Mette with 11 counts of physical abuse and enabling.
The State prosecutor, however, first attempted to drop all charges, and charged sexual predator Mr. Mette with only one count of “spanking”.
When the State was not allowed to do this, they decided to charge Mr. Mette with only one count of rape of a child under 10. The other 22 charges of aggravated child rape and incest were
The State then dropped all charges against Mrs. Mette, who the children said knew about and enabled the abuse.
Children are now back with Mrs. Mette, where they can’t sue the State DSS. As the state’s DCI agent explained, South Dakota fears that they will face an expensive lawsuit by the seven Lakota foster children whose complaints of sexual abuse were ignored by the state
for 10 years. Since they are now minors in the custody of Wendy Mette, the person who enabled the abuse, they cannot sue the state without her permission and support.
What can we do?
Please call Tony West, the Associate Attorney General of the United States, and let him know that the federal Department of Justice needs to Free the Mette Children immediately!

TRIGGER WARNING: child abuse, sexual abuse and rape.
please stop these horrifying acts from continuing. It occurs much too often.
"I was talking with a friend, Ivette González-Alé, about fat identity and she asked, “fat according to whom?” She said her body is just like everyone else in her family; their indigeneity forms a body foreign to white standards of height/weight/body fat distribution. Fatness is set against white bodies, with no consideration for other groups, creating an identity irrelevant to her brown body."
Actual things that should be done with plantations
-burn them all to the ground
- sacred museums telling the actual history of slavery not glorifying the lives of slave owners
-genetic testing/ ancestry mapping sites for Black Americans
Why isn’t this a thing yet???
Because white people— even *ahem* certain white “feminists” and hippies—like having weddings, barbecues, weekend-getaways, play golf and have concerts on old plantations.
Former Iranian Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh, before the world at the United Nations Convention in 1951, spoke to expose Britain’s colonialist domination of his country. In his address he said, “They [the British government] are trying to persuade world opinion that the lamb has devoured the wolf.”
These sentiments reverberate in the mainstream media’s current portrayal of Israeli domination and occupation over Palestinians. In such a narrative life is preserved and life is taken. But we who digest the news fed to us do something sinister when we listen or read unquestionably: We become the silencer attached to the tip of a rifle invading Palestinian homes… the stealth by which genocide encroaches upon a people, executing them without a sound.
The press is supposed to keep us informed, aware and alert, critically engaged in the events of the world, so that when we object or want to change the course of happening-history, we can. In reality the mainstream press has acted more to misinform us, to make us the silencers of bombs, missiles and bullets, enablers of war and genocide, than wielders of knowledge and actors for justice.
Keeping the blinders on at all times
As events in Gaza grow increasingly lethal, as more and more Palestinians suffer or are displaced by Israeli forces — deaths now top more than 560 — the Western news machine drones on and on framing story after story in colonist narratives. Pro-Zionist coverage has and continues to dominate prominent Western news outlets. We are never meant to know the truth of Palestinian struggle — even if large protests about it are happening in our backyard.
Sunday’s march in San Francisco, and elsewhere in the United States, turned-out crowds of thousands. Counted together, tens of thousands. Still, not more than a bleep made it to airtime on local news. When the protests have gotten coverage, they have been misconstrued.
After the crowd mobilized in San Francisco to make their solidarity with Palestine known, passionately but peacefully occupying all lanes of traffic from the Ferry Building to City Hall, local news outlets reported the march as a “dueling protest” with another low-key, pro-Israel gathering in the city.
Da Lin, reporting for CBS San Francisco, per the usual course in mainstream coverage, committed the oft repeated fallacy of blaming both sides equally, or the act of creating similar culpability where it cannot possibly exist. In his follow-up to the station’s video coverage he stated:
“[S]upporters on both sides of the Middle East conflict chanted slogans outside the Jewish temple Congregation Emanuel.
Palestinian supporters called Israeli troops terrorists for killing dozens of women and children in recent days, while supporters of Israel denounced attacks by Hamas.”
And that’s it basically. Nothing was said of Israeli occupation, siege, or the ongoing blockade for which Hamas has taken to armed resistance. Not a word was spoken about the fact that Israel is the 4th largest military power in the world, or that it receives full backing AND billions in funding from the U.S. No mention of the Palestinian children actually killed by the Israeli Defense Force, or that “defense” against a people with no army who are resisting colonial domination, alien occupation, and a racist regime is not a “conflict” — it’s genocide.
But this is what blaming both sides does: It ignores material reality. Atif Choudhury, in a recent op-ed for the Huffington Post, put it well:
"Sentiments like “it’s both sides fault” may be true in the strictest sense of the principle that it takes two parties to have a conflict, but in practice the gulf is stark.
One side routinely have their houses demolished, while another is building mansions in their place. One side are routinely expelled from their homes; the other side is adverse possessing them like it’s a monopoly game. One side has water use rationed down to the drop; the other draws upon the same water supply to support swimming pools and fountains in illegal settlements. One side routinely has pregnant women and/or their newly born children die while trying to get through a maze of checkpoints in order to get to their local hospital, the other has roads criss-crossing occupied territory exclusively for their own use. One side can be jailed, shot, and even killed for protesting, while the other can vandalize, harass, and assault with impunity and has the full resources of a sovereign state act as their personal security guards.
The list of disparities goes on and on, and again does not even take into account a stark reality of each and every phase of this six decade tragedy — that one side routinely loses far more of their sons, daughters, husbands, and wives than the other.”
Being fed information is easy, understanding resistance is not
There is a sort of defacto pro-Zionism happening when we accept the mainstream narrative. It is frighteningly easy to do too (because it is meant to be). It is easy to digest a story which says two opponents are hashing out differences with all ignorance to nuance. One is winning. One is losing. Some are dying. Some are not. One is moral. The other is evil. It is a binarization of history which when one side is chosen as truth, the other’s history and struggle is executed.
Less we want to be culpable in the onslaught of Gaza, this is a time when we must make a choice between what is right, and what is easy. We have to realize when we listen to and accept the Zionist narrative we facilitate the conditions of Palestinian oppression. As Malcolm X once said, “If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”

Anonymous said: How do you meditate?
Why you should meditate:
There are a number of waves that are brains give (delta, alpha, theta, and beta) and these waves are measured in Hertz. Below is a little description of each wave
Delta- Altertness and focus; however prolonged state of the brain remaining in this state leads to stress and depression
Beta- Similar to Delta
Alpha- State of relaxation, a state often derived from meditation.
Theta- Deep relaxation and a state where we are in our subconscience, often derived in our state of sleeep, but can be achieved through highly skilled meditation.
When you meditate, you try to switch the brain from giving off a stressed wave, to a more relaxed state. Our stresses and our habbits deform the shape of our brain, however we can mold our brain to function at a heightened state and actually change the shape of the brain through meditation (scientifically proven, the term is called neruroplasticity).
How to Meditate:
There are numerous ways to meditate, but Im going to give a quick run-down of how to meditate by focusing on the breath
1. Sit straight up (I believe in English they refer to this as the Indian style)
2. Have a posture to expand the lungs.
3. Clear the mind and focus on the breathe.
and thats it. Its an easy thing to learn, but takes a lifetime to master. When beginning off, try 15-20 minute sessions in the morning. The mornings are best, just when you have woken up, but make sure you are awake! Splash water in your face, take a shower, whatever; but make sure you are awake! If you see yourself falling asleep during meditation, take a nap! It does you no good!
Below are somethings I would recommend to someone that is just beginning off and common mistakes one makes.
1. If you are just beginning, I am going to guarantee 100% that you are going to be going in and out of the state of meditation. What you are trying to do is to clear the mind of the thought, but at first you are going to be focused on the breathe and have the mind clear for one moment, and then the next your mind is going to drift off and think about some random things. DONT be angry or frustrated at the idea that you are unable to focus completely, that is a thought in itself! Watch and observe the thought as they come and go, and pull yourself back into the state of meditation. Awareness of the thoughts is very different than thinking a though.
2. If you live in a loud place, or cant seem to get the drift of meditating, try looking up Meditation music in youtube and go with one you like. The music basically is in tuned with a delta wave and can serve as an aid. I personally like to do this myself, but I know this isnt for everybody.
3.You might think meditating is for some peaceful buddhist monk wayyyy up in the mountains of Tibet or whatever, but no, its for everyone! It doesn’t matter if your Christian, Muslim, Catholic, Jewish; just as anyone can think a thought anywhere, anyone can meditate at anytime anywhere!
Im challenging everyone of my followers to try actively making their lives better, by meditating for ONE week. Thats all I ask, 15-20 minutes for 7 days. Meditation will calm the mind from over thinking, which humans seem to do a good job of doing and will create peace in the mind.
“If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world in one generation.” Dalai Lama

Fucking signal boost this shit
This is one of the most horrific things happening in the world and yet I can’t seem to find out any news about it.
Ambulances are being shot by tanks. Doctors, civilians, children playing on the beach and everyone else are all being killed.
France’s Socialist government provoked outrage today by becoming the first in the world to ban protests against Israeli action in Palestine.
In what is viewed as an outrageous attack on democracy, Socialist Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said mass demonstrations planned for the weekend should be halted.
Mr Cazeneuve said there was a ‘threat to public order’, while opponents said he was ‘criminalising’ popular support of the Palestinian people.
